Publication Process
The International Journal of Architectural Engineering Technology (IJAET) follows a transparent, efficient, and rigorous online publication process. Our goal is to ensure that each manuscript is handled efficiently without compromising academic quality, editorial independence, or ethical standards.
The time from initial submission to publication typically ranges from 6 to 10 weeks. However, the overall timeline may vary depending on the availability of reviewers, the complexity of the manuscript, and the extent and timeliness of author revisions.
The publication process is divided into four main stages:
1. Initial Editorial Assessment (3–7 days)
All manuscripts are submitted through the journal’s online submission system and undergo an initial editorial assessment by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated handling editor.
At this stage, manuscripts are evaluated for:
- Alignment with the journal’s aims and scope
- Originality and scholarly merit
- Compliance with the journal’s submission requirements
- Adherence to relevant ethical and publication standards
Manuscripts that fall outside the journal’s scope, do not meet basic editorial requirements, or have significant deficiencies may be declined without external peer review.
2. Peer Review and Editorial Decision (3–6 weeks)
Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial assessment proceed to external peer review. The handling editor invites qualified reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area.
Reviewers are asked to assess the manuscript based on criteria including:
- Originality and methodological soundness
- Research quality and academic significance
- Ethical compliance and research integrity
- Clarity and validity of the results and conclusions
- Adequacy of citations and contextual relevance
Where reviewer reports are substantially conflicting, an additional expert review may be sought to support a balanced editorial decision.
After consideration of the reviewer reports, the Editor-in-Chief or designated editor may make one of the following decisions:
Accept: The manuscript meets the journal’s publication requirements and proceeds to copyediting and production.
Minor or Major Revision: The author is invited to revise the manuscript in response to the reviewers’ and editors’ comments. Depending on the nature of the revisions, the revised manuscript may undergo further editorial assessment or be returned to reviewers for re-evaluation.
Reject: The manuscript does not meet the journal’s editorial or scientific standards.
The time required for author revisions is not fixed and may affect the overall publication timeline.
3. Copyediting (3–5 days)
Following acceptance, the manuscript undergoes copyediting to improve language, clarity, structure, consistency, and adherence to the journal’s editorial style.
Authors may be asked to review and approve substantial editorial changes where necessary.
4. Production and Publication (4–7 days)
In the final stage, the accepted manuscript is prepared for publication according to the journal’s formatting and production requirements. Galley proofs are provided to the authors for final review and approval.
Following confirmation of the final proofs, the article is published online and assigned a DOI.
