Publication Process

The International Journal of Architectural Engineering Technology (IJAET) follows a transparent, efficient, and rigorous online publication process. Our goal is to ensure that each manuscript is processed swiftly without compromising academic quality or ethical standards. The total publication timeline is typically 5–8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of revisions.

The workflow is divided into four main stages:

1. Submission (3-5 days)

All manuscripts are submitted through the online submission system. Each submission undergoes an initial editorial screening by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated handling editor. At this stage, manuscripts are evaluated for:

  • Alignment with the journal’s aims and scope

  • Originality and scientific merit

  • Compliance with formatting and ethical standards

Submissions lacking originality, containing major deficiencies, or falling outside the journal’s scope may be declined at this stage.

2. Peer Review (30–45 days)

All manuscripts passing the initial assessment proceed to double-blind peer review. The handling editor invites at least two to three qualified reviewers who are experts in the subject area. Reviewers assess the manuscript based on:

  • Originality and methodological soundness

  • Ethical compliance and research integrity

  • Clarity and validity of results and conclusions

  • Adequacy of citations and contextual relevance

If reviewer reports are contradictory, an additional expert review may be sought to ensure a balanced decision.

After receiving reviewer reports, the Editor-in-Chief makes one of the following decisions:

  • Accept: The paper meets publication standards and proceeds to copyediting.

  • Minor/Major Revision: The author is requested to revise the manuscript in response to reviewer comments. Revised manuscripts are re-evaluated by the original reviewers when necessary.

  • Reject: The paper does not meet the journal’s quality criteria.

3. Copyediting (4–7 days)

Accepted manuscripts are carefully copyedited for grammar, structure, and clarity. Authors receive suggested edits and may be asked to review and approve the final language and formatting changes to ensure accuracy and consistency.

4. Production (4-7 days)

In the final stage, the manuscript is formatted into the journal’s layout. Galley proofs are sent to authors for final approval before publication. Upon confirmation, the article is published online in the upcoming issue and assigned a DOI.
