Reinstatement of Article Processing Charges (APCs)

2026-10-24

The International Journal of Architectural Engineering Technology (IJAET) announces the reinstatement of Article Processing Charges (APCs), effective 1 November 2026.

Since April 2025, the journal has operated without APCs to encourage submissions and make scholarly publishing more accessible to researchers worldwide. While this initiative supported the journal’s outreach, the substantial increase in submissions and the resources required for initial screening, peer-review management, editorial administration, and publication production have made the continuation of a no-APC model increasingly difficult to sustain.

To ensure the journal’s long-term sustainability and maintain its commitment to rigorous peer review, editorial quality, and timely publication, the standard APC will be US$630 per accepted article, subject to the journal’s published waiver and discount policy. Automatic country-based discounts and waivers will be available to eligible authors.

This decision reflects our commitment to maintaining a sustainable publishing model that supports the responsible evaluation and dissemination of high-quality research in architectural engineering and building technology.

This change applies to manuscripts submitted on or after November 1, 2026. Manuscripts submitted before this date will remain exempt from APCs under the previous policy.

We thank our authors, reviewers, editorial board members, and readers for their continued support and understanding.
