Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism not only involves copying someone’s original ideas or work without any proper acknowledgement or citation but it also involves stealing someone else’s work and lying about it afterwards. Hence, plagiarism is considered as a fraud.

All the original work and ideas are protected by copyright laws and portraying someone’s work as your own is a serious offence. Below mentioned are some acts that are considered as committing plagiarism:

  1. Close imitation or complete copying of someone’s data, ideas, figures and tables, full or parts of paragraphs, language etc.
  2. Submitting someone else’s work as your own.
  3. Using images from a website or other articles that are protected by copyright.
  4. Using someone else’s videos or footages to compose your own video.
  5. Copying numerous words or ideas from a source that it makes up the majority of your work, whether you acknowledge it or not.
  6. Self-plagiarism, also known as Text Recycling, refers to the author reusing his own work, without proper citation. This is also considered a malpractice and creates duplication of the data in the academic literature.

We follow the COPE guidelines when dealing with plagiarism whether it is detected before or after publishing the article. Please refer to the following flowcharts by COPE for complete understanding and details: &

Avanti Publishers holds the right to reject the manuscripts if plagiarism is detected before publishing the manuscript, to retract the article if it is detected after publication and to contact & inform the authors’ institutions about the detected plagiarism.

When citing others’ (or your own) previous work, please make sure you have:

  1. Included all the references in Reference Section.
  2. Obtained the copyright from people or publishers whose content has been relevantly used in your paper.
  3. Clearly mentioned the citations in your manuscript and acknowledged all the sources of your research.
  4. Abstained from copying someone’s work and presenting it as your own.
