Professor Salman Ajib, male, Department of Renewable Energy and decentralized Energy Supply (Since 2011), Electrical power Engineer from Damascus University (Syria) in 1979, PhD from electrical Department at Ilmenau University of Technology (Germany) at the field of short circuit protection of electrical networks (middle voltage), in 1985. He worked, during 1986 – 91 as a Director of a Technical Institute in Damascus and as lecturer at Damascus University.
From 1992 till 2011 worked Prof. Ajib as researcher and senior lecture at Ilmenau University of Technology (Germany), Department of mechanical Engineering. He headed an own research group at the field of solar cooling and air conditioning. He has 6 patents at this field. He cooperated with many industrial companies and implemented many research projects.
In 2005 defended his habilitation Thesis at the field of solar thermal cooling systems and received the academic degree PD. Dr.-Ing. habil.
Prof. Ajib coordinated and implemented 4 international research and education projects in cooperation with many Syrian, Jordan and European Universities.
Since 2011 is Prof. Ajib as full Professor at the Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe/Höxter (University of Applied sciences) and head of the Department of Renewable Energy and decentralized Energy Supply.
He has over 85 publications in reputed journals of Energy and contributed as co-author for a book at the field of solar thermal applications (with other 5 Syrian colleagues).
Professor Ajib was invited as a Speaker at two International Conferences in Jordan and Syria.
Prof. Ajib has guided 6 Ph.D. students and more than 30 Master and Diploma students. Many another are under progress.
Prof. Ajib was invited as reviewer of European research projects for 5 years. He acts also as reviewer for some scientific journals.
